Unit 2 Discussion 2 – Carrie, a 6-year-old child, is brought

Unit 2.2 DB: Attachment Case Study

Carrie, a 6-year-old child, is brought into a child guidance clinic by her foster mother. The child was removed from her birth mother about a year ago and the mother has since left the area, necessitating that the court seek to terminate her rights. Little is known about the child’s life with her mother. Carrie has now been released for adoption by the court and it is your job to evaluate her and figure out what services she might need. The child is quiet and shows little interest in the toys around the office. She does not make eye contact and, despite having been with the foster mother for almost 6 months, shows little connection to her. You try to engage Carrie through puppets, but she is only mildly interested. You ask her to draw a picture, which ends up all in black—a house with no windows. You praise her for drawing as you asked, and the child hurriedly rips up the paper and throws it on the floor.

In a separate interview with the foster mother, you ask her to describe Carrie and her behaviors at home. She describes a quiet, listless, and somewhat withdrawn child who does not appear to make friends readily. Carrie has few interests and prefers to be alone in her room. She does poorly in school and the teachers say that she has little desire to learn. She rarely cries even when hurt.

• o As you think about Carrie and what she must have experienced with her mother, what are your observations?

o What do you think her experience with early mothering was like?

o What type of attachment style does she demonstrate?

o What do you think Carrie would need in an adoptive placement?

HIS315 Week 4 – The Ethics of Remembrance

Week 4 Assignment His315

The Ethics of Remembrance

Documentary filmmaker Claude Lanzmann has accused Steven Spielberg’s film  Schindler’s List of trivializing the holocaust by attempting to represent what cannot be represented. Philosopher Richard Kearney defends  Schindler’s List in his essay, “ Narrative and the Ethics of Remembrance ,” arguing that narrative representation is essential to cultural identity.

In two to three pages (excluding title and reference pages), argue your own position on the representation of the Holocaust. Can the Holocaust be represented in a way that honors the unimaginable suffering of the victims? Be sure to defend your view against the objections of the opposing side. Cite Kearney, Lanzmann, and other authors, as appropriate.

Assignment – Compose a Project Plan, You are a healthcare administrator

Assignment: Signature Assignment: Compose a Project Plan

As you prepare your Signature Assignment this week, please keep in mind that for your Week 8 assignment, you will review and respond to faculty feedback provided for this week’s Signature Assignment. You will also reflect on the course content, concepts, and course competencies, and critically analyze how these elements impact and/or advance your career interests and degree program pathway.

All projects start with a plan. In this assignment, you will create a project plan responsive to the ongoing scenario weaving the assignments of this course together.

Scenario:

You are a healthcare administrator in a popular healthcare facility in your community. This facility has decided to expand its telemedicine capabilities to better reach community members with limited physical access to the facility. You have previously been involved in the exploration of this expansion and have been assigned the development of a project plan to initiate and guide the project. In particular, you have identified that the EHR system will require upgrading to accommodate the delivery of telemedicine services better. Since this EHR is also used to support inpatient and ambulatory services, you will need to minimize any disruptions to patient care and daily operations, which will continue during project integration.

You will create a project plan, including each of the project management knowledge areas (Glandon, 2013). Incorporate your previous assignments to address the appropriate elements of your project plan.

Ensure your project plan addresses:

· Ongoing strategic evaluation of the expanded telemedicine services.

· The primary measures that will be used to determine which EHR system to purchase and implement.

· Steps that will be required to install and launch the selected EHR system while continuing to maintain normal clinic operations. Indicate why implementing in this manner is important.

· The anticipated timeline for implementation.

· The performance metrics that will be monitored over time to indicate the success or failure of the implementation and ongoing performance. Expand upon what data would be desirable or what data would be considered problematic for each of the metrics.

Length: 8-12 pages

References: Include a minimum of 2-3 additional scholarly references, beyond those included in previous assignments. The total number of references should be a minimum of 12-15.

2. Explain briefly how each selected reference supports the topic chosen for the research discussed during the first module.

3. Using the examples found in the online link to Annotated Bibliography, you are to create at least 10 references as your assignment.  https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/graduate_writing/thesis_and_dissertation/getting_started.html

4. Be sure to include each summary rationale as to what each selected reference adds to further knowledge on the subject.

You are also expected to share where any specific reference either supports or refutes another reference that has been included in the prepared Annotated Bibliography. Be sure to carefully follow the proper APA format rules when listing the reference before adding your descriptive information.

For each bibliographical reference, provide a summary description of 150-200 words. Focus your description on the who, what, when, where, why, and how of the study.

Human Resource Systems – Choose one of the privacy laws

Human Resource Systems

Choose one of the privacy laws (Privacy Act of 1974, FCRA, Electronic Communications Privacy Act, HIPAA, or Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and discuss the implication for an HRIS in protecting employee and employer information.

In responding to your peers, identify how each law may impact the performance of the HRIS. In other words, what information or features might users want in an HRIS that may or may not be available given what is noted in the privacy law identified.
